Revival of Monarchy Merely Day Dreaming: PM Oli

Siraha: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stated that the notion of reviving the monarchy in Nepal is nothing more than day dreaming. While inaugurating the 11th district convention of the CPN (UML) in Siraha district headquarters, he emphasized that the Nepali people would no longer accept a return to the monarchy. He pointed out that the actions of pro-monarchists on March 28 had exposed their true intentions.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Prime Minister Oli remarked, “The revival of monarchy is a day-dream. It is not of any use. Their March 28’s actions have broken the very dream,” assuring the public that the current system would remain intact. He condemned the anarchist and destructive acts that involved setting fire to homes, a pharmaceutical company, and a media house, as well as the killing of an individual by fire inside a locked house.

Prime Minister Oli reiterated the government’s commitment to good governance, development, and prosperity, stating that efforts are ongoing to achieve the national aspiration of a prosperous Nepal and happy Nepalis. He pledged to strengthen democracy by enhancing social justice, equality, inclusiveness, and a proportional system.

In his address, PM Oli highlighted the government’s focus on completing the Kamala Bridge along the postal road connecting Dhanusha and Siraha on schedule. Earlier in the day, PM Oli addressed the Madhes Province Assembly in Janakpur.
