Kathmandu: Lawmakers from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) have decided to resign en masse. This collective decision marks a significant political move amidst ongoing national developments that they claim have rendered the current government, parliament, and constitution ineffective.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Mohan Kumar Shrestha, the RPP spokesperson and chief of the publicity department, announced that members of both the House of Representatives and the Province Assembly from RPP have agreed to resign and exit the parliament. The decision emerges as a response to what the party describes as the government’s inability to address crucial national challenges.
In an official release, Shrestha emphasized the urgency for new agreements and urged all parties concerned to heed the demands of the protesting Gen Z. The RPP’s call to action aims at fostering a direction that aligns with the aspirations of the younger generation, signaling a push for substantial political reforms in the country.
