Jumla: The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), Jumla chapter has awarded RSS local correspondent Bijay Rawat in recognition of his contribution to investigative reporting based in Karnali Province. The FNJ chapter honored him with the ‘Gauri-Padam Memorial Journalism Award’, which includes a purse of Rs 10,000.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the ceremony also recognized the efforts of other notable journalists. Kali Bahadur Pariyar of Dubo Khabar online and Laxmi Neupane, station manager of Radio Nari Awaj, Jumla, were also awarded on the same occasion.
National Association of Rural Municipalities of Nepal central vice chair and Hima rural municipality chair, Laxman Bahadur Shahi, attended the event as the chief guest. He encouraged media professionals to amplify their voices for credible, impartial, and citizen-centered journalism, contributing to the strengthening of democratic norms and values.
