Gaighat: Various rural roads in the hilly areas of the district have been blocked due to the rainfall on Saturday. The road section from the district headquarters Gaighat to Rauta has been blocked, while rural roads including Rauta-Salle and Rauta-Bhutar are also inaccessible.
According to National News Agency Nepal, rural roads in the Pambu area, such as Rauta-Namanta, Rauta-Aaptar, Nametar-Okhreni, and Rametar-Bhadaure, have been blocked. Local resident Dilliram Magar reported that the road leading to Majhkharka via Rauta-Murkuchi and Dilli Bar has collapsed at various places, with potholes formed by floods further obstructing the roads.
Continuous rain fell for more than three hours in the district on Saturday. Ganga Ghalemgar of Dumre mentioned that the Bhalayadanda-Barre and Dumre-Udayapurgadhi rural municipality roads have also collapsed due to the rain.
The road connecting Mainamaini from Kothu in Belka Municipality-8 has collapsed and remains shut for traffic.
