Schedule of Nepali Congress’ 15th General Convention Announced

Kathmandu: The Nepali Congress has officially released the schedule for its 15th General Convention, which is set to take place in October. The announcement marks the beginning of a series of preparatory activities leading up to the event.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Krishna Prasad Dulal, the Acting Chief Secretary of the party’s Central Office, revealed that a special campaign focused on the distribution and updating of active memberships will precede the convention. During this campaign, membership forms will be distributed from the central level down to the ward level, with representatives dispatched to all 165 constituencies to facilitate the membership distribution process.

The active membership drive is scheduled to commence in mid-April, covering all 6,743 wards. Members are required to update their memberships in the wards where they are registered. The schedule also stipulates that any complaints regarding active membership must be investigated by district-level committees and forwarded to the central office by mid-May. The central office aims to finalize membership lists by mid-June, following necessary investigations.

Furthermore, the updated list of active members is to be submitted to the Central Election Committee by mid-July. The timeline outlines that all ward committees shall be completed, and regional delegates elected, by late August. Village and municipality conventions are planned for this period as well. The provincial assembly regional convention and district conventions for single-constituency districts are slated for early September, with the remaining district conventions occurring in mid-September.

The Nepali Congress’ 15th General Convention is set to convene from October 2 to 5, 2026.
