Shamaruh Mirza, Husband Faham Accorded Reception in Thakurgaon


Thakurgaon: BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s daughter, medical scientist Dr. Shamaruh Mirza, and her husband, health scientist and researcher Dr. Faham Abdus Salam, were accorded a reception in Thakurgaon for their contributions to the country.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the reception was organized by the Eco Social Development Organization (ESDO), Thakurgaon Press Club, and various social and cultural organizations at Zainul Abedin Hall of ESDO. The event was attended by ESDO founder and executive director Dr. Muhammad Shahid Uz Zaman, District BNP General Secretary Mirza Faisal Amin, former principal of Thakurgaon Government College Monotosh Kumar Dey, and acting president of Thakurgaon Press Club Lutfor Rahman Mithu, among others.



Dr. Shamaruh Mirza, a physician by profession, has been actively volunteering among culturally and linguistically diverse communities in Canberra, Australia. She is also the co-founder of Sitara’s Story, a volunteer and non-profit organization established in 2017. Meanwhile, Dr. Faham Abdus Salam was honored as a Post Doctoral Fellow after earning his PhD from the Australian National University. His columns ‘Probas Pinjar’ and ‘Swadesh Bihang’ in the weekly newspaper Jayjay have gained popularity.



During the event, Dr. Shamaruh emphasized the importance of hard work, stating that success cannot be achieved without it. Addressing the youth, Dr. Faham Abdus Salam highlighted the significance of truthfulness, suggesting that life becomes easier by adhering to the truth. He encouraged everyone to embrace truth within themselves to achieve success in life.
