State minister Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru today said prime minister Sheikh Hasina has been steering the nation towards progress and prosperity with a view to build the country as a “Developed and Smart Bangladesh”.
“The country has been marching towards progress and prosperity in an indomitable pace under the dynamic and far-sighted leadership of premier Sheikh Hasina and it would be transformed into the Developed and Smart Bangladesh soon,” he said while distributing bank cheques to patients of different incurable diseases including cancer and heart ailments at local public hall here.
Khasru called upon the people to vote for “boat” the electoral symbol of Bangladesh Awami League, in the upcoming national general election for continuing the current development spree of the country.
At the programme Khasru distributed bank cheques amounting to taka one crore 29 lakhs and 50 thousands among the 259 poverty- stricken people who were suffering from different incurable diseases including cancer, liver cirrhosis and heart ailments in the district.
Chaired by deputy commissioner Netrakona Anjana Khan Mojlish, the cheque distribution ceremony was addressed, among others, by chairman of Netrakona zila parishad Asit Kumar Sarker Sazal, police super Netrakona Mohammad Foyaz Ahmed, chairman of Netrakona Sader upazila Ataur Rahman Manik, deputy civil surgeon Avijit Louho and deputy director of district social service department Alal Uddin.
