Kathmandu: President of the Shram Sanskriti Party (SSP), Harka Raj Rai, has declared that his party is committed to playing a constructive role in parliament from the opposition benches. Rai made this announcement as he arrived at the Parliament building at Singha Durbar, where he was set to attend the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected Members of Parliament.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Rai expressed his intention to provide the government with both constructive support and healthy criticism. He emphasized the importance of the opposition’s role in questioning the government to ensure accountability while also offering support on critical matters. Rai stated, “We will always play a positive role in supporting the government and the country. As the opposition, we will fulfill our dynamic role.”
Rai, who represents Sunsari Constituency No. 1, highlighted his commitment to addressing national issues, specifically advocating for access to clean drinking water throughout the country. As a newly elected lawmaker, he pledged to actively work towards this goal while maintaining a constructive stance in parliament.
