Surkhet: Minister for Youth and Sports Tejulal Chaudhary has confirmed that the 10th National Games will take place in Surkhet, Karnali province, in February. This announcement was made during a meeting of the National Assembly’s Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee, where discussions were held regarding the government assurance related to the Ministry of Youth and Sports as mentioned in the government’s policy and programme for 2080-81 BS.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Chaudhary assured attendees that the games will proceed as planned, emphasizing the government’s commitment to hosting the event in Surkhet at the scheduled time. He also highlighted the ministry’s dedication to ensuring the social security of the country’s sportspersons.
During the meeting, several MPs, including Padam Pariyar, Madan Kumari Shah, and Sumitra BC, stressed the importance of adhering to the pre-determined schedule and location for the 10th National Games. They urged Minister Chaudhary to mainta
in the commitment to the stipulated time and place for the event.
On this occasion, Suman Aryal, Secretary of the Sports Ministry, noted that the Ministry is actively working to integrate sports with education, culture, and other genres, reflecting a comprehensive approach to the development of sports in the region.
