Chitwan: Three people died and two others were injured when a factory wall collapsed at the Kisan Dana Factory at Shantikunj Tole of Ratnagar municipality-12 in Chitwan district today morning.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Rabindra Khanal, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at the District Police Office, Chitwan, confirmed that the deceased have been identified as Sumara Darai, 45, of Khairahani municipality-2 in Chitwan. Additionally, Ramesh Damai, 45, of Gorkha district, currently residing at Ratnanagar municipality-2 in Chitwan, and Kamal Gurung, 45, of the same place, also lost their lives in the wall collapse.
DSP Khanal shared that the incident occurred at 9:50 am when wall number 4 of the factory suddenly collapsed, burying five workers under the debris. Among the injured, three succumbed to their injuries during treatment at Chitwan Medical College.
The two injured workers, Jitendra Mahato, 39, and Akaj Prasad Tharu, 40, are currently residing at Ratnanagar Municipality-12 in Chitwan. They are receiving treatment at Chitwan Medical College, and their health condition is reported to be moderate.
Police have initiated further investigations into the case, as stated by DSP Khanal.
