Mahendranagar: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed for academic cooperation among three domestic universities. According to Far Western University (FWU)’s information officer, Nabin Bahadur Bom, a tripartite understanding was reached on Wednesday at FWU in Mahendranagar for academic collaboration, study, and research among Tribhuvan University, Mid-West University, and FWU.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the memorandum was signed during a programme attended by the Chairman of the University Grants Commission, Prof Dr Devraj Adhikari. The vice-chancellors of the three universities involved, namely Prof Dr Hemraj Panta of Far-Western University, Prof Dr Deepak Aryal of Tribhuvan University, and Prof Dr Dhruba Kumar Gautam of Mid-Western University, formalized the agreement.
At the programme, Registrar of FWU, Prof Dr Binod Lekhak, expressed confidence that the understanding would elevate the cooperation between the universities. He stated, “This agreement will serve as a milestone in managing skilled human resources by fulfilling the shortage of university faculties through digital means. We expect this understanding to make the study and research work of teachers and students more convenient and effective.”
The MoU aims to institutionalise the exchange of educational resources, research, technology, and experience among the three universities. In particular, programmes such as joint classes, research collaboration, and shared use of professors will be promoted through a ‘digital platform’.
The FWU has stated that this collaboration is expected to make a significant contribution to enhancing quality in higher education, effective use of resources, and the development of a teaching system based on modern technology.
