Kathmandu: Acting President of the Nepali Congress, Purna Bahadur Khadka, has emphasized that festivals like Tihar play a crucial role in promoting unity and identity by fostering fraternity and bonds within communities. He conveyed this message of best wishes during the occasion of the Tihar festival and Nepal Sambat 1146.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Acting President Khadka highlighted the significance of the Bagmati civilization in the realms of language, literature, art, and culture. He pointed out that Nepal Sambat represents a historical and cultural awakening. Furthermore, he acknowledged the contributions of Sankhadhar Sakhwa, who played a pivotal role in liberating the poor and oppressed from financial burdens, marking a significant chapter in Nepali history and culture. Khadka expressed his hope that the Nepal Sambat would continue to promote identity.
