Siraha: Two persons died while one was injured in two separate electrocution incidents in Siraha district.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the District Police Office in Siraha reported that two men succumbed to electric shock yesterday, while a woman sustained an injury on Sunday. The unfortunate events resulted in the loss of the 15-year-old son of Id Mohammad from Siraha municipality-4 and Kamaklal Sadaya, 40, from Lahan municipality-19.
Police revealed that Mohammad’s son received the electric shock while operating a water-pumping motor. Critically injured, he was rushed to the provincial hospital in Siraha, where he eventually passed away.
Similarly, Sadaya was also seriously hurt while charging an electric rickshaw at his home. He died during treatment at a local health facility.
In another incident, Afroza Khatun, 30, the wife of Sadar Alam from Siraha municipality, sustained injuries from an electric shock while operating a water-pumping motor. She is currently undergoing treatment at the provincial hospital in Siraha.
Superintendent of Police (SP) and Chief of the District Police Office, Siraha, Anant Ram Sharma, stated that an investigation into these cases is ongoing. Meanwhile, SP Sharma urged the public to exercise caution while using electric equipment.
