Underwater Rescuers Recover Bodies of Two Missing in Sarlahi Pond Accident.


Sarlahi: The underwater rescuers have fished out the bodies of two persons who had gone missing in a pond after a car they were in plunged into it at Bayalbas of Ishworpur municipality in Sarlahi early this morning. The lifeless bodies of Ram Kant Thakur, 37, and Suresh Mahato, 38, were taken out by the divers.

According to National News Agency Nepal, a car (Lu 2 Cha 6758) traveling from Sarlahi district to Mahottari veered into the pond at Minyakhor of Ishworpur-2. Thakur hailed from Sonwa rural municipality-8, while Mahato was from Gaushala municipality-10. Remarkably, Jank Yadav, 31, who was also in the vehicle, managed to survive the ordeal by swimming to safety. Yadav is a resident of Gaushala-2, Mahottari.

A team of divers from the Armed Police Force was quickly mobilized to conduct search and rescue operations for the missing individuals, as confirmed by Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dipak Shrestha. The deceased have been transported to Provincial Hospital, Malangawa for postmortem examinations. T
