Dhaka: A Women’s Basketball tournament was organized at the Dhanmondi Sultana Kamal Women’s Sports Complex as part of the Youth Festival celebrations. The event took place today and was officially inaugurated by the Bangladesh Basketball Federation (BBF) president, Dr. Shemim Aka Nawaz. The day-long tournament was arranged by the Bangladesh Women Sports Association (BWSA).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event saw the participation of various dignitaries, including the acting president of BWSA, Anjuman Ara Aksir, the acting general secretary, Firoza Karim Neli, and several executive members. A total of thirty-two players took part in the day’s basketball activities.
In addition to this basketball event, a cricket tournament is also set to be held as part of the Youth Festival. The cricket matches are scheduled for February 13-14, featuring four local teams competing in the tournament.
