Gangachara: Young students of today are being urged to build a new Bangladesh by embracing modern education in science and technology to meet the challenges of the 21st century. Gangachara Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mahmud Hasan Mridha made these remarks at a freshers’ reception, cultural competition, and prize distribution event at Gangachara Adarsha High School.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event saw the institution’s premises filled with students, teachers, guardians, government officials, civil society members, and local elites, transforming it into a lively youth festival. The function was presided over by Acting Headmaster Md Enamul Haque, with Senior Assistant Teachers Nirmal Chandra Sarkar and Abdul Mottalib Mithu moderating the daylong program.
Special guests at the event included Gangachara Upazila Secondary Education Officer ASM Arif Mahfuz, Upazila Academic Supervisor Md Amjad Hossain Chowdhury, and founder members Saju Ahmed Lal, Mofazzal Hossain, Ashraful Islam, and Sharif Uddin, all of whom highlighted the importance of a science and technology-based education system.
Speakers emphasized that education is the backbone of a nation, insisting that there is no alternative to providing modern education to students to prepare them as worthy citizens. The chief guest welcomed the newly admitted students and encouraged them to focus on their studies to play a role in building a new Bangladesh in the future.
He further stated that young students should cultivate patriotic zeal, inspired by the spirit of the Liberation War and the July Uprising, to contribute to a Bangladesh free from discrimination, corruption, and injustice. The event concluded with the distribution of prizes to winners of various cultural competitions, presented by the chief guest and other dignitaries.
