CPN (Unified Socialist) Elects 575 Delegates for Karnali Provincial Congress.


Surkhet: The CPN (Unified Socialist) has selected 575 representatives for the inaugural assembly of the Karnali Provincial Committee. A significant step for the party, this assembly aims to address key developmental issues in the region.

According to National News Agency Nepal, a total of 304 delegates have been chosen from all 24 constituencies of Karnali province. These delegates will convene in Surkhet on November 11 and 12. Additionally, 18 representatives were selected through the party’s provincial liaison units and province-level committees, each representing various sister organizations.

The assembly is set to be inaugurated by party president Madhav Kumar Nepal and will focus on discussing the social, economic, and political development strategies for Karnali province. An essential agenda of the assembly will be electing a new working committee.

In a bid to enhance the party’s efficiency and dynamism, the CPN (Unified Socialist) plans to revise the responsibilities and roles of its leaders. Party
Central Secretary Somprasad Pandey noted that a task force has been established to evaluate leaders’ competencies and past performances. This task force has engaged in discussions with like-minded leaders and individuals instrumental in founding the Communist Party, aiming to ensure effective organizational restructuring.
