Dubai: In a bid to prepare them well for the upcoming Champions Trophy, Bangladesh will play a practice game against Pakistan Shaheens tomorrow at the ICC Cricket Academy in Dubai. Pakistan Shaheens, originally the Pakistan A team, will feature some of the national discarded players with Mohammad Haris leading the side.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, this is the lone practice game scheduled for Bangladesh for the tournament, being held for the first time since 2017 in England. Bangladesh were the semifinalists of the tournament in the last edition. This time, Pakistan is hosting the tournament, but it is being held based on a Hybrid model. Dubai, UAE is the other venue outside of Pakistan for the matches featuring India.
Bangladesh will play their first match in Dubai as they take on India to kick-off their mission on February 19. Therefore, they chose Dubai as the venue for the practice match. The Bangladesh squad includes Najmul Hossain Shanto as captain, along with players such as Soumya Sarkar, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, and Mushfiqur Rahim. On the other hand, the Pakistan Shaheens squad, led by Mohammad Haris, includes players like Aamir Jamal, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, and Usama Mir.
