NCC Delegates from India, Bhutan, and Maldives Meet with PM Oli


Kathmandu: The National Cadet Corps (NCC) team from India, Bhutan, and the Maldives paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at his official residence in Baluwatar today. The team is in Nepal to participate in the Youth Exchange Programme 2025.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the youth exchange programme is being held in Kathmandu on the occasion of Mahashivaratri and the 262nd anniversary of the establishment of the Nepali Army. During the meeting, Prime Minister Oli highlighted that the programme provides a valuable opportunity for strengthening mutual relations with the military forces of friendly countries, while also facilitating the exchange of skills, culture, and traditions among the cadets.



Prime Minister Oli expressed his belief that such initiatives would foster a greater understanding and appreciation of social, economic, and cultural realities. He emphasized the importance of spreading the message that the world is a unified community built on mutual relations and harmony.



He encouraged participants to draw inspiration from this platform to become future leaders who are energetic, dignified, and dynamic. The Prime Minister underscored the importance of learning through studying, observing, and experiencing the realities of life.



The programme aims to bring together youth from various countries, transforming them into trustworthy, disciplined, responsible, and effective leaders and citizens. The NCC focuses on instilling qualities like nationalism, patriotism, leadership, self-confidence, and service to the nation among the youth.



The 34-member team is visiting Nepal at the invitation of the Nepal Army. The meeting was attended by prominent figures including Yam Prasad Dhakal, Executive Director General of Nepal’s National Service Corps, Gurvir Pal Singh, Director General of India’s NCC, Sangay Choden, Director of Bhutan Scout Association, and Rifan Ali, Head of the Maldivian delegation, among others.
