Dhaka: The Embassy of Nepal in Bangladesh celebrated the 262nd Raising Day of the Nepali Army within its premises on Monday. Nepali Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ghanshyam Bhandari, emphasized that the occasion is a reminder of the commitment and service of the Nepali Army to Nepal and its people.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Bhandari also spoke about the military cooperation between Nepal and Bangladesh, expressing hope that it would strengthen the friendly bilateral relationship between the two nations.
Military Attach© Colonel Anjan Keshar Khatri discussed the Nepali Army’s role in protecting Nepal’s sovereignty and independence, as well as its contribution to socio-economic development. He also highlighted the army’s involvement in maintaining international peace and security through United Nations peacekeeping missions.
The event was attended by over 170 guests, including government officials, ambassadors, heads of missions, high-ranking officers from the armed forces of Bangladesh, defense attaches, members of the diplomatic corps, business leaders, and representatives from the Nepali community in Bangladesh, as stated in a press release by the Embassy.
