Lawmakers Urge Government to Prioritize Completion of Incomplete Projects


Kathmandu: In a recent session of the House of Representatives (HoR), lawmakers made a collective call for the government to ensure adequate budget allocations for incomplete projects. They emphasized the necessity for the upcoming fiscal year’s budget to focus on bringing these projects to completion.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Shyam Kumar Ghimire of the Nepali Congress highlighted that several road projects of strategic importance within electoral constituencies remain in limbo. He also emphasized the urgent need to implement the University Act to address educational reforms.



Lilanath Shrestha of the CPN (UML) noted improvements achieved by the current government, claiming that dairy farmers and construction companies have received their overdue payments. He acknowledged the government’s efforts in stabilizing the country’s economy but expressed concern over the increasing misuse of social media platforms.



Hit Bahadur Tamang of the CPN (Maoist Centre) criticized the government for failing to be accountable to its citizens and accused it of unfairly treating Nepal Electricity Authority’s managing director, Kulman Ghishing. This sentiment echoed a demand for greater transparency and accountability from the government.



Shishir Khanal from the Rastriya Swatantra Party called for the suspension against party Chair Rabi Lamichhane to be lifted, highlighting internal party issues that require resolution.



Rajendra Prasad Lingden of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party demanded the release of individuals arrested for participating in the ‘no cable car’ movement in Pathibhara of Taplejung, drawing attention to local protest movements and the need for dialogue.



These discussions reflect the varied concerns of lawmakers who are urging the government to prioritize pressing issues and ensure fair treatment of all stakeholders involved.
