Kathmandu: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba called for collective efforts to end violence against women (VAW) and all other obstacles on women empowerment. In a congratulatory message on the occasion of International Women’s Day-2025, Minister Rana emphasized the need for concerted efforts to eliminate discrimination and violence against women, highlighting the ongoing challenges they face.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Minister acknowledged the progress achieved in the country’s women’s movements but expressed concern over the unaddressed basic needs of Nepali citizens compared to developed nations. Minister Rana, who has been a longstanding advocate for gender advancement, reaffirmed her commitment to women empowerment and gender equality. She pledged to drive policy reform to ensure that women’s voices are heard.
The Minister urged everyone to enhance the capacity of women, especially those from rural areas and marginalized communities, to increase their access to governance. She also called for a united effort to secure a bright future for adolescent girls.
