Lalitpur: The top leaders of the ruling CPN (UML) have deliberated on the topics and issues to be included in the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2025/26. At the meeting convened at the party’s central office at Chyasal, Lalitpur today, the top leaders suggested making the upcoming budget people-oriented, said Dr. Bhisma Adhikari, Secretary at the UML central office.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the party’s Vice-Chairperson Ishwor Pokhrel, along with Vice-Chairpersons Yubaraj Gyawali, Bishnu Prasad Paudel, Asta Laxmi Shakya, Guru Baral, and leaders such as Prithvi Subba Gurung and Padma Aryal, advised that the budget should focus on boosting domestic production and making the country self-reliant. They also recommended that the budget should be centered on the development of agriculture, industries, and infrastructures.

Party Chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma, however, was absent from the meeting, said Dr. Adhikari. The meeting is an extension of the party’s secretariat’s meeting on May 4, where all secretariat members could not voice their views due to time constraints, added Dr. Adhikari.
