Kathmandu: The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) is preparing to work on the Monsoon Preparedness and Response National Plan of Action, 2082, based on the weather forecast provided by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. Spokesperson of NDRRMA, Ram Bahadur KC, stated that the development of the National Plan of Action is being expedited as the upcoming monsoon season is expected to commence soon in Nepal.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the draft of the document is currently being prepared, and potential risks have been identified. Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak recently directed the Authority to finalize the National Plan of Action, taking into account the weather forecasts provided by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. Minister Lekhak emphasized the importance of preparing the plan for monsoon preparedness and response due to the loss of lives and property caused by monsoon-induced disasters in previous years.
