Birendranagar: Chief Minister of Karnali Province, Yamlal Kandel, today initiated the upgrading works on the seven-kilometre Mulpani-Ranighat section of the Mulpani-Ranighat-Telpani-Bhurigaon road at Palate, Birendranagar Municipality-2. This road serves as the shortest connection between the Karnali province and the Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Chief Minister Kandel addressed the gathering, emphasizing the necessity for cooperation among government and private sectors in infrastructure development. He highlighted that improving living standards is a collective responsibility, not limited to government offices and construction companies. Kandel underscored the importance of local residents and stakeholders in contributing to development and construction efforts through positive thinking, monitoring, and trust.
The Chief Minister noted that upon completion of this road, travelers will no longer need to take a detour through Kohalpur in Banke to reach Bardiya and Sudurpaschim Province, as they can directly travel to Bardiya. He stressed the urgency of carrying out development and construction work efficiently and stated that a contract of Rs 320 million had been opened for bidding. The contractor company has been awarded a contract for Rs 180 million and has already commenced work.
Kandel described the road as the main gateway to Karnali’s tourism region and urged construction entrepreneurs to maintain quality and effectiveness in their work. He assured that the provincial government would offer support in case of any challenges during the construction process.
