Kathmandu: The lawmakers of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) have stated that they boycotted the meeting of the House of Representatives due to their inability to present their party’s issues to the Prime Minister. The RSP members expressed their frustration over being unable to communicate their demands during the House meeting.
According to National News Agency Nepal, RSP acting spokesperson Manish Jha emphasized that their decision to boycott the meeting was driven by the fact that they were not given the opportunity to express their views and inform the Prime Minister about their demands. The RSP has been actively protesting in Parliament against the ‘visit visa’ scam, advocating for the establishment of a parliamentary probe commission to investigate the scandal. They are also demanding the resignation of the Home Minister, alleging his involvement in the affair.
The RSP acting spokesperson further mentioned, “We wanted to tell the Prime Minister our concerns, but he left the meeting without listening to us. After that, we also left.” This statement highlights the party’s dissatisfaction with the current state of communication between the lawmakers and the Prime Minister.
During the House of Representatives meeting, all RSP MPs attended wearing black clothes and blue ribbons as a form of protest. The blue ribbon is internationally recognized as a symbol of opposition to human trafficking, signifying the seriousness of their allegations and demands.
