Alternative Route of Daunne-Dumkibas Road Completely Blocked

Nawalparasi: The alternative route in the Dumkibas area of Nawalparasi (Bardaghat-Susta East), which is part of the Butwal-Narayangadh road stretch, has been completely obstructed.

According to National News Agency Nepal, a rain-induced flood has swept away a bridge in Binayi Triveni Municipality-1 Dumkibas, initially prompting authorities to manage road transportation through a diversion. However, this temporary solution was also compromised, necessitating the use of an alternative road that has now been entirely blocked since this morning.

The flood-fed Kharange stream in Binayi Triveni-3 has led to the complete obstruction of the alternative route, as informed by Superintendent of Police at Nawalpur Police, Yadav Dhakal. Consequently, vehicles are unable to navigate through the Dumkibas section, as the continuous rain has increased the water current, washing away the temporary diversion over the Binayi River along the East-West Highway.

Previously, small and medium vehicles, up to 12 wheels, which were on hold, were permitted to pass through the alternative inner route using the Hongsigate, Sardi, and Jyamire highways. However, SP Dhakal confirmed that all transportation has now come to a complete standstill. The ongoing rain has heightened water levels in the rivers and streams, and the lack of reliable arrangements for the temporary diversion has resulted in significant difficulties for travelers.
