Kathmandu: The main opposition, CPN (Maoist Center), has called for action against those responsible for altering the provisions related to the ‘cooling-off’ period in the Federal Civil Service Bill, which was passed by the State Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives.
According to National News Agency Nepal, at a press conference held at the party headquarters in Parisdanda, Vice President and Spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota demanded an impartial investigation into the alterations. Sapkota emphasized that the changes appeared to be pre-planned rather than the actions of a few individuals, suggesting that the leadership of the parliament should take moral responsibility for the issue.
Additionally, Sapkota expressed regret over the delay in passing the school education bill, despite an agreement with the Nepal Teachers’ Federation to have it passed by June 29. He urged the government to expedite the passage of the Education Bill to avoid forcing teachers to resort to street protests.
The CPN (Maoist Center) also called on the government to assess potential disaster damage, prepare for post-disaster relief and rescue efforts, and address the broader issues facing the agricultural sector. This includes meeting the immediate needs for fertilizers and seeds to support farmers.
