Chair Nepal Advocates for Unity in Communist Movement

Kathmandu: Chairman of the CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, has emphasized the necessity of unity within the communist movement to establish a society where all individuals’ rights are safeguarded and promoted. He highlighted this point while inaugurating the 5th district convention of students affiliated with his party in the federal capital on Friday, stressing the importance of resolving contradictions within the movement.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Chairman Nepal reminded that the Nepali people endorsed the communist party recognizing the weakening of the movement globally. He added that the communist party was founded in Nepal to address social transformation and national needs. Efforts are underway to strengthen the party by unifying scattered leftist powers to work towards social justice, equality, economic growth, and eliminating various forms of suppression and discrimination.

As a former Prime Minister, Chairman Nepal argued that his party was established to foster a functional democracy, a pluralistic society, and equitable development for all citizens. He also expressed concerns about growing corruption hindering social transformation and good governance.

Chairman Nepal recalled the long struggle to achieve the current constitution ensuring full press freedom. He mentioned being falsely implicated in a legal case as part of a political conspiracy, but expressed confidence in receiving justice from the court.
