Dodhara-chandani: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has announced that construction work on the dry port in Dodhara-Chandani, Kanchanpur, will commence shortly.

According to National News Agency Nepal, during his inspection of the construction site, Minister Lekhak stated that the contract for building the port has been approved, and preparations are underway to lay the foundation stone. The construction project, once started, is expected to be completed within a three-year timeframe.

The dry port will feature two warehouses, customs inspection and quarantine buildings, as well as immigration and security buildings. Nepal has already developed a six-lane access road leading to the dry port and has completed a four-lane concrete bridge over the Mahakali River. Meanwhile, India is in the process of constructing an access road to the port from its side.
