Jaimini: The Kalung rivulet of Jaimini Municipality-9, Paiyuthanthap has swept away the dam and power house of the Upper Kalungkhola Hydropower Project. Ganga Acharya, a local, reported to RSS that the flooding early in the morning led to the destruction of the dam along with the project’s power house.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the flood also swept away a Steel Bridge constructed last year at a cost of Rs 3.5 million. The disaster has further caused damage to the transformer of the central power transmission line, subsequently disrupting power supply to a total of 130 households in Paiyuthanthap.
Two families from Khareyabot, Paiyuthanthap have been displaced due to the flood, while seven additional families are at risk of floods and landslides. The flood has also inflicted damage on the paddy fields planted along the banks of the rivulet.
