Baitadi: Two people died and six others were injured in a jeep accident that occurred at 5:30 this morning in Baitadi district. The jeep, with the registration number Su Pa Pra 04 001 Ja 1372, was traveling to Ganna in Darchula district from Dhangadhi when it veered off the road and fell approximately 100 meters at Patan-6 in Baitadi district.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Police Inspector Balaram Pandey from the District Police Office in Baitadi reported that the deceased include the jeep driver, 24-year-old Santosh Bahadur Rana, and a passenger, 32-year-old Kiran Bohara from Dilasaini Rural Municipality-1. The mishap has left the community in shock as they mourn the loss.
Among the injured, Rajendra Bahadur Khatri, 27, and Kamala Dhami, 51, both from Dilasaini-1, were transported to Dhangadhi for further medical treatment. The authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the cause of the accident, and the condition of the injured individuals is being closely monitored.
