Kathmandu: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakash Man Singh, has criticized the narrative that claims no progress has been made in Nepal, labeling it as misleading and a deliberate attempt to spread illusions. Singh addressed this issue at a programme organized by the Nepali Congress at Nagarjun municipality-2 in Kathmandu, which was held to felicitate SEE graduate students. He urged the students to not be swayed by the false notion of ‘no improvement’ and encouraged them to study the reality.
According to National News Agency Nepal, DPM Singh highlighted the importance of youth and students assessing the developments in the past and present by consulting with their parents and seniors. He acknowledged that while there is still much to be done to achieve the desired progress in the country, significant advancements have been made, especially in the education sector. Singh recounted the strides made in education, from having limited subject choices during his student days to the current availability of international-level education within Nepal.
Singh emphasized the responsibility to guide the country on the path of development and assured the audience that efforts are being made towards this goal. He encouraged students to consider pursuing higher education within Nepal, arguing that the availability of quality education domestically reduces the need to study abroad.
