Home Minister Orders Probe into Unauthorized Travel to Spain

Kathmandu: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has directed an investigation into the alleged involvement of unauthorized individuals accompanying the Prime Minister’s recent trip to Spain.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the Home Minister on Sunday instructed Home Secretary Gokarnamani Duwadi and Inspector General of Police Deepak Thapa to ascertain whether any individuals, not part of the official delegation, had traveled to Spain during the Prime Minister’s visit.

‘They have been instructed to investigate whether anyone traveled to Spain on a visit visa apart from the official delegation,’ stated the Home Minister. The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) and the Anti-Human Trafficking Bureau of Nepal Police will be tasked with conducting the investigation. Legal action will be pursued against anyone found guilty, in compliance with the law.

It is worth noting that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli traveled to Spain on June 28 to attend the Fourth United Nations International Conference on Financing for Development (FFD-4), which took place from June 30 to July 3.
