UML’s Politburo Meeting Continues for Second Day in Lalitpur

Lalitpur: The politburo meeting of the CPN (UML) has commenced for the second consecutive day at the party headquarters. The meeting is chaired by party Chairman KP Sharma Oli, as stated by UML Publicity Department Chief, Rajendra Gautam.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the remaining politburo members are expected to express their views on the statute amendment proposal presented by Vice-Chairperson Bishnu Prasad Paudel. On the previous day, seven politburo members had already shared their perspectives on the proposal.

The proposed statute amendment seeks to eliminate the 70-year age limit and the two-term provision for the party chairman. Additionally, it suggests a 251-member central committee along with 15 office-bearers and introduces a three-level structure consisting of a standing committee, politburo committee, and central committee.

The politburo meeting is planned to conclude today. The UML is also preparing to organize its statute convention at the Sunrise International Conference Centre in Godavari starting from September 5.
