Kathmandu: CPN (UML) Chairperson and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former President Bidya Devi Bhandari held a meeting at the UML Headquarters in Chyasal today. The meeting comes after Bhandari announced her return to party politics, sparking significant discussions within the party.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the recently held Secretariat and Politburo meetings of the party had addressed the issue of Bhandari’s return. Formal discussions with party leaders are taking place today to deliberate on the matter. Chair Oli has expressed that Bhandari did not consult with the party before making her announcement.
During the Politburo meeting that concluded on Saturday, members voiced concerns about Bhandari’s decision to return to politics after having served in a high-profile position. The central committee meeting of the UML is scheduled for Monday, where further discussions are expected to take place.
