Kathmandu: On the occasion of the first Monday of the Sawan month, the revered Pashupatinath temple has opened all four of its doors at 3 am to welcome devotees.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Arun Biset, an official from the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT), stated that arrangements have been made to accommodate approximately 500,000 devotees who are expected to visit and pay homage at this holy shrine. The Mondays of the Sawan month hold significant importance for Hindus who observe fasting and perform pooja to Lord Shiva.
A substantial number of devotees gathered at the Pashupatinath temple from the early morning hours, as noted by Biset. The PADT has announced that tickets priced below Rs 7,500 will not be issued for special pooja during the Sawan month.
Additionally, the Marwari Samaj is providing a free meal to the devotees at the Pashupatinath temple, and this service will continue every Monday throughout the month. To facilitate transportation, the PADT has also arranged for a fre
e bus service along the ring road in the valley for devotees visiting the temple each Monday.
