Cabinet Decisions: Approval to Sign Letter of Exchange


Kathmandu: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, today announced the decisions made by the Council of Ministers meeting held on July 20. The government has approved signing a ‘Letter of Exchange’ with the Chinese government concerning the implementation of the Bone Marrow Transplantation Medical Centre Project at BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital in Bharatpur, Chitwan.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Gurung also revealed that a talk team led by a Joint-Secretary from the Ministry of Finance will engage in discussions with the World Bank regarding a USD 10 million grant for the public finance project. Furthermore, as the government’s Spokesperson, Gurung confirmed that the Cabinet approved the participation of ministers and secretaries from various ministries in international events.



Minister for Agriculture and Livestock, Ramnath Adhikari, has been authorized to attend the Second United National Food System Summit Stock Take in Ethiopia, and Minister of State for Forest and Environment, Rupa BK, will attend an event in Zimbabwe. Other significant Cabinet decisions include approving the voluntary retirement request of Deputy Attorney General Dr. Tek Bahadur Ghimire, effective from July 18, and the promotion of certain civil employees.
