Kathmandu: A meeting of the Koshi Province Assembly (PA) has unanimously passed a bill concerning the establishment and operation of a contribution-based pension fund. The bill was presented by Province Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning, Ram Bahadur Magar, and subsequently put to a decision by Speaker Ambar Bahadur Bista.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the bill’s passage marks a significant legislative step for the province. The decision to approve the bill was made during a session that also included discussions on other pressing matters. During the session, Province Minister for Tourism, Forest, and Environment, Sadananda Mandal, addressed the assembly to refute media reports alleging his involvement in corruption.
Minister Mandal stated, “It is wrong to allege me of demanding ‘money’ from subordinate employees by sending QR code of my secretariat employee.” He called for an investigation to uncover the facts related to the allegations.
