Rasuwa: Two youths, who had gone missing during a holy bath in the Gosainkunda of Rasuwa district, have been found dead. The deceased have been identified as Manoj Neupane, 28, of Belbari municipality-11 and Sujan Dhakal, 26, of Biratnagar municipality-3, according to Chief of the District Police Office, Hem Bahadur Shahi.
According to National News Agency Nepal, both individuals vanished in the pond while taking a holy bath on Sunday. Their bodies were recovered from the pond today with the assistance of security personnel and local hotel entrepreneurs. However, efforts to airlift the bodies to Kathmandu for post-mortem faced obstacles as a helicopter failed to depart from Kathmandu due to adverse weather conditions.
Police speculate that the youths may have succumbed to the freezing cold while bathing in the pond, which is situated at an altitude of 4,380 meters above sea level. It is suspected that one of the youths fell into the pond, and the other went missing while attempting a rescue.
