Syafrubesi Rasuwgadhi Route Closed Again Due to Lhende Stream Flood

Rasuwa: A flood from the Lhende Stream along the Nepal-China border in Rasuwa district has once again disrupted traffic on the Syafrubesi-Rasuwagadhi road. The flood, which occurred last night, caused significant damage to the road, leading to a complete halt in traffic movement.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Chief District Officer of Rasuwa, Arjun Paudel, reported that the flood triggered soil erosion at the Timure Dry Port. This area had narrowly escaped damage during a previous flood from the same stream on July 8. The recent disaster has rendered the route impassable, and concerns are rising due to heavy rains reported in the Chinese territory, which could lead to further flooding.

The Chief District Officer, who also chairs the District Disaster Management Committee, emphasized the increased risk of further disasters and urged residents near the riverbanks to move to safer locations. Despite the flood’s impact, no human casualties have been reported. Authorities have also issued warnings to communities in the lower riparian areas along the Trishuli River about potential water level rises due to the flood from the Lhende Stream.
