Let’s Build Environment Where All Nepalis Can Happily Enjoy ‘Kheer’: PM Oli


Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has emphasized the importance of creating an environment where all Nepalis can celebrate the tradition of enjoying Kheer on Saun 15 with happiness.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the Prime Minister, speaking at a programme organized by the CPN (UML)’s Literary, Arts and Culture Department, called for collective efforts to ensure that this cultural day is marked joyously across the nation. He highlighted the challenges posed by the drought in the Tarai-Madhes region, which has affected the potential for good paddy production this year. In response, the government is actively working to improve irrigation facilities in the affected areas.



Prime Minister Oli has instructed relevant authorities to expedite the completion of crucial projects such as the Sunkoshi Marin Diversion, Rani Jamara Kulariya, and Tamore, which are vital for enhancing irrigation infrastructure. Additionally, Raghuji Panta, Department Chief and Minister for Education, Science and Technology, noted the Department’s annual organization of the ‘Kheer Khane’ programme, aimed at promoting Nepali indigenous culture.
