Kathmandu: The Department of Tourism has initiated steps to ensure a well-managed and technology-friendly service delivery. The Department is focusing on procedural simplification, system reforms, and the implementation of technological regulations in its operations.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Department, as stated in its recently published annual report, aims to foster a business-friendly tourism governance model while establishing the sector as both investment and technology-friendly. The integration of international practices into the national system is also a priority, as the Department seeks to expand and enhance tourism activities.
Dr. Narayan Prasad Regmi, Director General of the Department, emphasized that efforts are underway to simplify and make the Department’s performance more accessible and business-friendly. He mentioned that policy-level reforms are being considered to further this goal.
Dr. Regmi also highlighted that increased tourism activities could lead to employment and self-employment opportunities, while enhancing the overall quality of tourism and the hospitality industry. The development of tourist infrastructures, quality hospitality service management, and the promotion of adventure and mountaineering tourism are areas receiving additional planning and focus, according to Dr. Regmi.
