CIAA Kanchanpur Investigates 64 Complaints in Sudurpaschim Province


Kanchanpur: The Kanchanpur Office of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has initiated a detailed investigation into 64 complaints in Sudurpaschim Province.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Information Officer at CIAA, Kanchanpur, Chet Raj Bhatta, revealed that a total of 1,696 complaints related to irregularities were filed in the previous fiscal year. Out of these, 1,198 complaints were new, while 489 were carried over from the previous fiscal year.



The district of Kailali registered the highest number of complaints, totaling 404, followed by Kanchanpur with 246, Achham with 210, Bajura with 195, Bajhang with 117, Doti with 104, Baitadi with 161, Darchula with 149, and Dadeldhura with 110.



Bhatta noted that approximately 50 percent of the complaints filed at CIAA, Kanchanpur, were related to local levels. Detailed investigations are currently being conducted on 13 complaints each from Achham and Baitadi, six complaints each from Bajura, Bajhang, and Kanchanpur, nine from Kailali, seven from Darchula, three from Doti, and one from Dadeldhura.



In the last fiscal year, the CIAA, Kanchanpur, successfully settled 1,234 of the complaints filed.
