Indian Chief Justice Gavai Visits Sacred Lumbini


Lumbini: The Chief Justice of India, Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai, has today visited Lumbini, the sacred birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha. Chief Justice Gavai had arrived in Kathmandu to address the ‘Nepal-India Judicial Dialogue on Recent Jurisprudence and Justice Sector Reforms, 2025’ organized by the Supreme Court in the federal capital on Friday.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Gavai was welcomed by Dr. Lharkyal Lama (Khenpo Chhime Chhiring), Vice Chairman of the Lumbini Development Trust, Member-Secretary, and other officials in Lumbini. During the visit, Gavai was briefed about the historical and religious significance of the Lumbini area.



He visited the Mayadevi Temple complex and recited the mantra. He also lit a lamp wishing for world peace, human welfare, Nepal’s progress, and a deeper friendly relationship between India and Nepal.
