Industry Minister Sinha Assumes Office with Focus on Local Materials and Youth Employment

Kathmandu: Newly appointed Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supplies Anil Kumar Sinha has taken office at the Ministry in Singh Durbar. After assuming his new role, Minister Sinha’s first decision was to prioritize the reconstruction of buildings damaged during the Gen-Z movements, with a strong emphasis on using domestic materials wherever possible.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Sinha highlighted the government’s policy of encouraging the use of local products, even if it entails a slightly higher cost during reconstruction. He expressed confidence that this approach will bolster enterprise development, asserting that economic progress in the country hinges on facilitating industry and business growth.

Minister Sinha stated that the primary focus is to create employment opportunities for the families of those injured and martyred, while also managing and developing the skills of the youth. He emphasized the importance of creating an environment that encourages the youth to remain in the country by enhancing skills development and management.

Additionally, Minister Sinha clarified that the interim government’s foremost goal is to conduct clean, fair, and peaceful elections, ultimately transferring state operation responsibilities to the elected government. He expressed optimism about seeing new faces in the assembly in the upcoming elections and urged realistic expectations over the next six months, focusing on procedural facilitation and online technology integration.

Minister Sinha, who has previously served as a justice of the Supreme Court, reiterated his commitment to ensuring that the contributions of the Gen-Z do not go to waste.
