Birtamod: Police have arrested three inmates who escaped from different prisons during the recent Gen-Z protests that took place on September 8 and 9. These fugitives were serving sentences in Nakkhu and Jhumka jails.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the police apprehended Narayan Rai, 41, of Chainpur Municipality-10 from his home. Rai had been incarcerated in Nakkhu jail for robbery, as stated by Nepal Police Inspector Ram Kumar Lamichhane.
Similarly, Subhash Tamang, 31, of Chainpur Municipality-9, and Gombu Sherpa, 57, of Chichila Rural Municipality-2, were also arrested. Both Tamang and Sherpa were serving sentences in Jhumka jail on separate rape charges.
Jailer Rajan Ghimire confirmed that all three arrested fugitives would be handed over to the Jhumka Jail administration on Wednesday.
