Ekantakumari, Ganakumaris Worshipped at Taleju Temple

Bhaktapur: Ekantakumari, the living goddess in Bhaktapur, along with 11 Ganakumaris, were worshipped at Taleju Temple in the district today. This annual ritual takes place during Nawami, a significant day in the local tradition.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the chief priest of Taleju Temple, Narendra Prasad Joshi, explained that the worship was conducted in line with the traditional practices associated with Nawami. The Kumari Jatra, a procession honoring the living goddess, commenced after Ekantakumari Luniva Bajracharya was brought to the Agamghar of Taleju.

Following the procession, the Kumari was worshipped at Chatubrahma Mahabihar (Monastery) before being enthroned at Taleju. The day’s rituals also included the sacrificial offerings of 54 he-goats, 32 he-buffaloes, and 24 ducks, accompanied by other traditional ceremonies.
