Kathmandu: The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRMA) has issued a directive to restrict vehicular movement along the river corridor roads in the Kathmandu Valley. This measure is set to take effect for 12 hours, starting from 6:00 pm today.
According to National News Agency Nepal, NDRMA released a notice requesting the three district administration offices within Kathmandu Valley to implement the restriction. The decision comes in response to reports of heavy to very heavy rainfall occurring in various regions of the country, including Kathmandu Valley.
The Authority has alerted the public to remain vigilant due to the potential risk of road inundation along the riverside. It has been noted that water levels in rivers and streams are expected to rise further during the night, increasing the risk of flooding.
