Kathmandu: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has successfully issued 42,856 recommendations through its digital system over the past ten months. This initiative, which began on January 26, 2025, marks a significant shift towards digital service provision in the region.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Chief of Information Technology Department of KMC, Anirudra Nepal, reported that a total of 20,398 applications for electronic recommendations were received during the current fiscal year. The digital system offers templates for 195 different types of services, facilitating a broad range of administrative functions.
The digital system was launched with the aim of enhancing the ‘Recommendation and Certification Management System’ to provide better services. Anirudra Nepal emphasized that the full implementation of the online system addresses many challenges faced by citizens, eliminating the need for them to visit the office or wait in lines for service.
